Piper's Playhouse

Our Story

Founded by a Bird Lover, for Bird Lovers

What started with one cockatiel and a pile of craft supplies became a mission to make enrichment better for every companion bird.

It Started with Piper

Piper was a rescue cockatiel with a personality ten times her size. She shredded everything — books, receipts, the occasional important document. But the toys marketed as “enrichment” sat untouched in her cage.

So we started making our own. Palm leaf bundles for foraging. Wooden puzzles that actually challenged her. Climbing structures that let her explore. And Piper loved them.

Friends with birds noticed. Then their friends noticed. What started at a kitchen table grew into Piper's Playhouse — a small workshop dedicated to making toys that birds genuinely use.

What We Believe

Materials matter
Every component is bird-safe: untreated wood, vegetable-tanned leather, food-grade dyes. No zinc hardware, no toxic adhesives, no shortcuts.
Instinct over aesthetics
We design for how birds actually behave — foraging, shredding, problem-solving — not for what looks cute on a shelf.
Small runs, high standards
We craft in small batches and inspect every piece by hand. If it wouldn’t be good enough for Piper, it doesn’t ship.
